"How to Live & Thrive in the U.S.", by Donna Poisl, is a book for Hispanic / Latino immigrants in the United States or people planning to move here.
Most of these new immigrants rely on friends or family who have been here longer to help them "learn the ropes". Many of those friends or relatives are also recent immigrants and don't know the best way to do things and then they ALL struggle.

If they do figure out where to find information they may not know what to ask when they get there or what documents to take with them. After several unsuccessful trips to the offices, these people sometimes give up and never get the things they need. When immigrants are able to assimilate into American culture, they are more successful in this country.

It gives you websites, addresses and telephone numbers for the federal departments and tells you how to find your local offices, and especially how to find them in your telephone book.

This book is bilingual, written in both English and Spanish. Left side pages are in English and the right side pages are in Spanish. One version has spiral binding, so the pages will lie flat and open. Two people can use it at the same time, so one person can help the other.

El libro bilingüe esta escrito en Ingles y Español. Las paginas del lado izquierdo están en Ingles y las del lado derecho están en Español. Tiene una unión en espiral de modo que las paginas se abren con facilidad. Dos personas lo pueden usar al mismo tiempo y ayudarse mutuamente.
